For sure! I'm planning on diving in this weekend and getting a plan together. I'll take some pics. Basically, the screws just totally stripped out of the under-bed plywood. Current plan is to drill out the holes and replace the screws with bolts, lock washers, and nuts.
Seems like the hinges are a poor match for the loads involved, especially considering that many T@G owners put a memory foam mattress on top of the factory mattress.

Consider heavier door hinges and bolt them down with washers and good nuts. Do not remember the name of nuts with the nylon insert or whatever. The hinges in the photo look like light duty cabinet hinges. Shame on the factory for such.

I think those are made to open from flat to 90 degree. And you would already be at 90 dedgree on installation when closed. I do not see how you could mounth them. That is if they can hold the wieght or the board, matress and bedding when open. I do not beleive that they are made to support the weight in that fashion. And that woukd be a lot on weight on those thin veneer of the board and the 4 in plank. When the board are up, either with the pistion modification or a simple stick, the weight is supported by the far edge or the lever, not the hindge side of it.
One last thing, can the floor board be hold at 90 degree, I do not beleive that our 5 wide's board can.

Couple of pics showing what I mean. The tiny screws just totally stripped out.
Sorry about all these issues.

It happens. Should be easy enough to repair.
Try a piano hinge. You can buy them at the hardware and that should resolve your issue.

I'm replacing them tonight with the 90 degree hinges from Home Depot.

Can anyone tell me if these would work to both replace the cheap little floor hinges AND hold the panel up while you rummage around? Thanks!
@BRaulston , I do not think so.
