Hi everyone. Wanted to introduce myself since I'm sure I'll be leaning pretty heavily on the collective knowledge and experience here. I just bought a 2018 Tag Outback (not an XL). I'm in north Texas. I have never owned any type of RV but have always wanted one. I've always tent camped and Big Bend National Park is my favorite destination. Although I would have preferred an XL for the extra room, a target of opportunity came up locally with this used (2nd owner) 2018 Tag Outback. It may actually work better not being an XL since I plan to tow it for the most part with my 2 door manual Jeep JL Rubicon. The regular width of the TAG is the same width (wheel to wheel) as my Jeep so visibility while towing is good. I also have a Ford F250 if I want to go overkill for towing, but I really like the idea of getting off the beaten paths and also the idea of boondocking. I haven't yet taken it for an overnight, but I did tow it about 70 miles just to see how it would do on the highway. Did great with the Jeep and was very stable (better than I expected). I do want to install a brake controller in the Jeep just to be extra safe (it came with the towing package so already has the RV plug). Anyway, just wanted to say hello and I'm excited to have this little trailer!

Welcome to T@G life.
Welcome!
A T@ber towing with a Wrangler, or a Jeeper towing a T@G, muat be a good guy! 😁
Probably amond the last to bear the name Outback! Be proud of it! Our outback is a 2017!
Just be carefull when you drive in tge wild, close all tge opening including tge cowblells with foam or sponge, dust as a tendancy to get in, and beware of tge bumps, tge suspension is a little stiff, so tge T@G will bounce around.
😁
Oh, and do not tow with the jockey wheel on tge jack! 😉
LuckyJ, I discovered just in the nick of time that I could remove the tongue jack wheel with the pin! Fortunately didn't tow with it in place so avoided at least one rookie mistake!
really like the twin awnings, campsite nuetral

Plus it came with a full zippered enclosure that will attach to either awning for some extra living space. I haven't had a chance to set it up yet. Also, I just ordered a set of wing walls for the galley. Oh, and I went ahead and ordered the full Joolca Hot Tap shower set up including the ensuite double popup tent for the shower. If I have any hope of getting my wife to join me, a shower is non-negotiable.
Joolca is a game changer
Welcome. I'm in North Texas as well. I have a 2019 Boondock 5W that I tow with my 4Runner. We've been to East Texas, Lake Murray in OK and the Hill Country. All have been in State Parks, no boondocking yet. Next outing we will tow with the Jeep.

Might add some medium Loctite to the galley latch screws...nice rig!
black so cool but out here in SoCal that would be like sleeping in a microwave
Howdy
Welcome, from a fellow Texan! I’m in Norteast. Longview area, to be exact.
That is a very nice looking rig you have! I like the colors. Like you, I camped Big Bend a lot in a tent. I plan to get out there again, in the not too distant future.
i camp in Texas state parks a lot. If that’s your plan, spend the $70 for an annual Texas state pass. It will pay for itself in a few trips. It will cover your entrance fee and give you a 50% discount on your second night of camping.
Enjoy your t@g!
