Hello,
I'm in the process of becoming a Tag (2022) owner and I would like to build my own LiFePO4 battery to replace the existing lead-acid battery. I was considering building the battery in this toolbox Milwaukee PACKOUT 10 in. Compact Portable Tool Box. But I'm not sure if it will fit in the tongue box alongside the propane tank. The outer dimensions are 16.2" x 9.8" x 13". Can any existing Tag owner ballpark whether or not that might fit?
Thanks!
Chad

Not sure which T@G you have. With my 2018 standard 5 wide, I converted a Group 27 size box to fit in my fiberglass box. It just fit.
The 16.2 could be a tight fit.
Search for my writeup "Changing to lithium battery with standard 2018"
Thanks, @JamesDow ! That post was super helpful. Do you happen to know the dimensions of the fiberglass box on your 2018?
My half cicle box is around 28 wide x 15.5" deep. Back is open, so that is why a 16" battery box can fit.
2022 has the diamond plated box right? Let me take a shot of mine.
Hope this helps!
I think my 2018 XL has a different size box. But I am very keen on doing the same thing. Would you mind posting as you progress?
@JamesDow @ahbradford ... Thank you both so much! I think it very well likely could fit! Four of the 230ah or 280ah prismatic cells would fit in that toolbox.
@Misterbee I'll keep you posted!
@mrchadj if you are looking for a more compact battery box for your cells, google Sun fun kits. They are a little pricey, but it works great. It is approximately 14” x 7.5” x 10”h.
Thanks,
Greg
