Adding peel/stick on tiles to galley backsplash...

Hello - one of the first mods to my 2016 T@G is to add peel & stick tiles to the backsplash in the galley. Does anyone know how to remove the cover for the water pump? Need to slide the tile behind it for a cleaner look. Also, if anyone has used peel and stick tile, tips for the best method to cut it are appreciated. A carpet knife works alright, but for finer cuts no so much. I tried a multi-tool, too with mixed results. thank you!
