How to release cooler slides in 2018 t@g

Hi, I've searched and searched and I cannot find any information on releasing the stock 2018 cooler slides to get the shelf out. I've also stared at it and pushed and poked. Usually these things are more obvious to me. Thanks for any info.

On my 2016, you just lift and pull.

On the 2018 there are 2 catches on the sides of the tray. I believe you push down to release which catches me because I want to pull up.

I am confused on what your question is. 
"Releasing the cooler slides to get the shelf out." 

I assume the question is getting the shelf completely out, (with refrigerator already removed) where you could set it aside the shelf and get easy access to what is behind and below the refrigerator. 
Am I basically correct with my assumption? 
I have a stock 2018, and I have never tried to completely remove the shelf and I too would like to know the answer before I have the need.

I ended up unscrewing it to remove the whole thing. I don't think the slides separate like many such slides do once you find the magic button.

Guess I will know if I ever have the need to totally remove my slides.
