Surge protector

Just bought a 2018 TAG XL. It has a microwave, air conditioner and media player.
Wondering if folks use surge protectors or is the electric in most campgrounds OK?

While I bought and carry a surge protector, I do not use it.
I rarely have used the receptacle tester I carry. Occasionally used it in trouble shooting to find out if a campsite 120V receptacle is working or not before switching over to my 30A adapter.

My surge protector doubles as a receptacle tester. I use it every time. Also carry a 20A 115V to 30A converter and a 50A to 30A converter. I've had to use each of them when the campground 30A was malfunctioning or had an open ground

Campground outlets are frequently run over by campers. You never know if there is a ground disruption. In addition, brownouts will have an impact on electronics in your camper. Better to be safe than sorry. We have always used an EMS without regret.

I use a Power Watchdog from Hughes, every time I hook up. I consider it cheap insurance.
