Wyalusing and the Great River Road

I am packing for a week on the road with my oldest son, Ian. We will spend a few days fishing and sightseeing in southern Wisconsin using Wyalusing State Park as our base camp. I should mention the culinary hijinx as well. Of all the wonderful State Parks we have here in cheeseland, Wyalusing is on my top 3, list. A bonus for me will be down and back on Hwy 35, aka the Great River Road. I never tire of a good, slow wander along the spine of the upper Mississippi River. Small river towns, parks, pull-offs a-plenty and gorgeous scenery. As an added bonus for this trip, the lunar eclipse will occur while we are there. Wyalusing has an astronomic observatory! Lovely. I'll post some photos...

Do you have a name for that tug boat? I would like to do a little resarch on it.

My son and I pored over our photos and believe the boats name to be the "L. Wade Childress".
I have heard one story about it and will write it up when I get a chance but I'm sure there are more. The short version is it was purchased down south, refloated and moved to Wi. To be a restaurant. Sadly, we couldn't board it...
