Saw this in another forum and thought it a good idea.
We are probably too far north up here in northern Jersey, but if push comes to shove we have a couple of extra beds and room for a trailer.
Anybody else in a reasonable area to evacuate to able to put up those that may need it?
Stay safe, don't underestimate this one.

Yep, plenty of parking space, and the wood stove heated spa would be available! Restroom and shower as well.
But I might be a bit on the far side! But I'm not kidding.

I see they are rescuing people this morning as a result of the storm surge from hurricane Florence. What happened to the mandatory evacuation calls, get out of town while you have a chance, this is a huge storm that will result in widespread power outages, storm surge and water amounts in biblical proportions messages, etc. that were issued?
Pretty tough to feel bad and not feel some anger for many of these individuals who turn their heads on public/government official pleas and warnings to evacuate because many of them ignore the warnings to stay home, party and thumb their noses at good old common sense and survival instincts.

All I could do is SMH when the news interviewed some people on the barrier islands that were staying. They said they've weathered storms before and weren't too worried.
One guy even said if it gest too bad he'll go in his boat It looked like a 15' boston whaler. Hate to tell him but he and his boat are gonna end up in Charlotte !!

Agree, there are many elderly folks and others who just can’t afford, nor have the financial means to evacuate and are forced to stay. And as noted, some believe since they’ve made it through other storms they will make it through another storm and be fine. However every storm is different, has different characteristics (slow moving and dumping more rain) and things change. This storm is really making life difficult for so many and over a very large area. So heartbreaking and here’s to hoping that things get better, power is restored quickly and the suffering is minimized.
