Locking front aluminum box

Anybody add a locking hasp to the front compartment on a TAG Boondock? Need someway to secure the contents of my front box.

I just installed an expensive LiFePo battery and inverter in my T@G and was also thinking about locking the front compartment, until I read a post saying the propane tank is supposed to be accessible in case of an accident. It makes sense, so personally I decided not to lock it. I doubt anyone would ever give you a hard time if you did it, and the reality is rescue people can get into that compartment pretty easily if they wanted to, lock or not.

Locking and aluminum shouldn't go together in a sentence nor in practical application.

I put a piece of strap steel over my battery with a pad lock. I don’t lock anything else, I’d rather someone rummage through my stuff then damage stuff getting in.
I regularly see what damage thieves cause to vehicles, trailers, and such and it just ain’t worth it.

I don’t lock my car or truck doors either.

I do have a jobsite tool box to slow them down and thats where I keep more valuable stuff.

A good word. Could I ask you to post how you did your steel strap and how you connected it to the bottom of the box. Photo’s would be great.

I didn’t relocate my battery, just bought some strapping from home depot that had holes in it, wrapped it around and locked it. I’ll try to get a pic sometime

I bought some plastic covered cable from Home Depot, made a loop in each end, wrap it around my battery case , through T@G mesh bottom an locked with a combo lock. Very easy to make, use and unlock if needed to get to battery.

I got a cam lock off amazon, which is basically whats on the box now, but no lock. I just took the one on there apart and replaced it with the lock. It's extremely easy and I'm having trouble explaining it, but once you get it all, it makes perfect sense.
