Smoke Alarm

I changed the smoke alarm battery in my t@g but it won't stop beeping. Cut the power, etc but that didn't work.
Any suggestions? And yes, it was a brand new battery

  They can go bad. If holding the button in for 15 seconds doesn't work I'd just get a replacement.
