In the nucamp black bag with all the manuals and remotes I found a 3/4 twelve point ratchet. Anyone know what this is for? I have looked over my Boondock but don't really see any place where this would be handy - I am probably overlooking something and I will not be surprised if I am. :)

    3/4” is the size of the lug nuts.

    Okay, after putting on my glasses I now see this is from lowering and raising the spare tire from underneath.
    Another question though, what are you using for a jack if you do need to change a tire on the road?

    I have an 8 ton bottle jack from Harbor Freight that I used on my Silver Shadow to change tires. I prefer to call AAA, but I can change a tire if need be.

    As a side note, do not put a jack under the axle. Use the frame as a support for the jack. The axle is a rubber torsion axle and will bend if used with a jack.

    You should be able to use the jack on your TV

    So today I used my garage floor jack to take off the tires and grease the hubs - amazing how much they took being new. Also surprised how much surface rust was on the drums and suspension - all better now with fresh paint.
    The jack from my TV (Subaru Outback) will not work as it does not extend enough. Maybe with some wood under it...
    I saw the notice about jacking under the frame not the axle, since this is a torsion bar axle you don't want to jack on it. My first car was a 1960 VW bug with a torsion bar front axle so I have some experience with the setup even though they are different in execution.
    This is fun working on my first camper! When I finish my restoration of my 1953 Dodge truck it should be fun to tow it with it.

    If you’re thinking of changing tires yourself keep in mind that the torque on the wheel lug nuts is generally higher on a trailer than a car. This means that unless you have an assist (special tools, pneumatics, etc.) you better have Popeye arms and a can of spinach.

    13 inch tires 2017 T@G XL, what is the torque suppose to be? I have a torque wrench.

    From Trailer venders my 13" wheels should be 85 pounds torque

    Any suggestions out there as to where I could find a reasonably priced or affordable torque wrench for lug nut torquing purposes, etc?
