    It's fairly common for folks to install a metal door kick panel behind the sink and cooktop. Some even install a custom backsplash like in a home kitchen.

    Papa,
    I've found that when using a large pot or pan, it gets warm there too. Doesn't happen with my small pans or coffee pot. Just the big ones. Since I built the LuckyJ signature burner shield, the problem has all but gone.

    Home Depot or Lowe's has many solutions from stick on metal to sheets you can screw in place. This really isn't an issue so far as I've heard and many individuals prefer cooking on table top camp stoves as opposed to using the stove in the galley.
