T@G sink faucet question

Bought a used T@G a few weeks ago and still trying to figure a few things out.

When I am hooked up to city water with good pressure and I turn on the faucet the pump still runs under the sink and it seems to be drawing some water from the tank. Is this how it’s supposed to work?

I kinda thought the pump would be shut off if there was sufficient water pressure from the city hookup. Or is there a switch somewhere to turn off the pump? Thanks.

    There are two water inlets, one for city water and one to fill the tank. With city water you shouldnt have to turn the pump on, only when using the tank.

    On our 2017 there is a rocker switch on the wall behind the faucet. I have read about a switch under the sink to the left and have also heard there is no switch on some models.

    Hmmm. Mine is a 2016 and I definitely don’t have a switch on the wall behind the faucet and I have looked under the sink but haven’t seen a switch there either unless I am just missing something.

    When I turn the faucet handle the pump starts running and stops when I close the faucet handle even when I am hooked up to city water. The flow of water is stronger when I am hooked up to city water but the pump still runs. Is there a pressure switch that maybe isn’t working?

    I think I remember folks adding switches to earlier models but I can let you know.

    Thanks. I looked under the sink with a work light and can see the wires but there is no switch. I guess it shouldn’t be too hard to add one.

    I can't verify any of this but from what other folks have said, on your model year, when hooked up to outside water, the water pressure is supposed to supply enough pressure to the pump switch to keep it from coming on but there seem to be quite a number of instances where that doesn't always happen, including yours. I guess it could be the switch or some restricition in the line to the pressure sensor but whatever the reason, maybe that's why all the newer models have a switch. There are a few folks that added an aftermarket switch, didn't see anyone that successfully fixed it any other way.

    Well I added a 12 volt 15 amp marine toggle switch to the water pump today. Now it works the way it’s supposed to when hooked up to city water. Thanks for all the good advice on this!
