Propane Regulator Question

I'm going to 1lb propane bottles under the sink and ditching the 20lb tank. I noticed a few other people have done the same. My question is do I have to stick with the large regulator that came with the rig or can I switch to a smaller one?

I read in someone else's post that the stove needed a regulator that delivered about .5psig.

Could someone provide me with a little wisdom please.

You just need a typical LPG regulator and hose, the stove already has an appliance regulator installed. This is the regulator I bought, it screws right on to where the original hose attached to the stove. The only other part you need is the 1 lb tank adapter.

One more thing that just occurred to me. Since I'm going from a valved 20# tank to a 1lb tank, should I put a ball valve between the regulator and the hose so as to be able to cut off the gas, but leave the bottle attached when not in use.

I just disconnect the tank. All I did was install a converter like this:

Easy Peasy. I've been surprised how long the 1lb tank lasts.

We also just remove the bottles when not in use and store them in a rack in our aftermarket tongue box. We do most of our "heavy" cooking on our Blackstone grill which also uses 1lb bottles. We invested in some Flame King refillable bottles which have worked out very well for us.
