Galley speaker add.

Added some speakers to the kitchen. Straight forward install. 30 min job. Sounds great! Bought some 3” marine speakers from amazon.

    Nice install.

    I just cant get over how much unused space there is behind the cabinets.

    That's awesome...would love to do this. I was curious, is there any way to get the TV's audio to output to the installed speakers? I want to switch out the two speakers inside the T@g, since it seems the quality of them is quite poor. It would be nice to be able to get the TV to play through those speakers as well.
    Also, are the speakers you installed controlled by the fader on the radio? In other words, are those speakers on all the time you are listening to music, or can you fade them out and just utilize the speakers inside?

    Tv sound comes through them with no needed adjustments. I wired them to the B zone. Wiring diagram is on the back of the Jensen radio. The first row of buttons on the stereo is for selecting zones A B C.

    For the inside speakers have you removed them and got all the debris out from the back of the speaker? It’s normal for them to collect saw dust and metal shavings that distorts the sound.

    Nice job. Looks professional. Good work! Though this is not for me as I don’t use the radio/tv when I go camping. I Boondock only—rain or shine, or snow =)

    I like you project and planning to do the same. Can you please confirm if speakers you installed are grey (as in link above) or black? From pictures they look like black so I want to make sure which one I need to order.

    I have one more question since I didn't receive speakers yet. Can you please confirm if mounting hole diameter is 3.38” (86mm)?

    I remember it being close to that. In the box the speakers are held in with cardboard and that has a hole in it. I cut one of those out and used that as my cutting template.

    Nice work! Inasmuch as I have contemplated this with the 5 teardrops I’ve owned over the last 10 years I found it much more convenient to use my Bluetooth speakers. I found a small magnetic speaker last fall at Home Depot that connects quickly to my iPhone, is waterproof, great sound and makes listening enjoyable whether in the shower, on the patio or in a remote BLM camping area.

    Oh I totally agree. I just like upgrading my old dog(2018) to look like the new guys. Keeps me busy right now.

    Received speakers today. Looks like mounting hole diameter is 3" (Amazon description with 3-3/8" is incorrect). Keep this in mind in case you want to use dedicated hole saw. I will be doing installation this weekend.

    Came out good. Easy install. Speakers aren’t amazing but are small and do the job!
