Trip to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons
Looking for recommendations for my trip from San Diego area to the Yellowstone area. I usually use the Virgen River campground just north of Las Vegas as my stopover point to the North, but it's closed for renovation until September or so. Anyone have any recommendations for camping in that or the Mesquite, Nevada area. Also through Salt Lake City. The Walmart supercenter there was a good place but now they are not open 24/7. I should be able to leave there and reach Yellowstone to enjoy my reservation there for August, then down to the Tetons and back home.

Thanks for any help

dude, Valley of Fire 20 miles north of Vegas, fantastic and if its hot you can plug and cool. North of St George there are numerous nice campgrounds just east of Beaver

Quaile Creek in St George is ok, close to the freeway. Cedar City has lots of camping, try Cedar Canyon or Point Supreme at spectacular Cedar Breaks

we are doing Grand Tetons, Dinosaur, Canyonlands, Arches, Goblin Valley, Capital Reef, Kodachrome, Point Supreme in Aug

After Yellowstone (4 days), heading back, maybe through the Tetons or to Dinosaur. Have to get back to San Diego for my grand daughter's first birthday.
