I went modern midevil with a 4 1/2” angle grinder. Used it to clean up any sharp edges left behind by the bracket as well. Took maybe 10 mins. Good luck!1 -

It’s actually a pretty easy mod to make. I used 1” x 1/8” aluminum bar stock from menards. It leaves about 1/8” gap between the guard and the burner, knocking down the air flow but keeping the kettle…2 -

Finally made it out for our first overnight visiting Pikes Peak on the NE coast of Iowa. Super friendly neighbors and a nice site. Kind of commical that we were sandwhiched between to 30+ ft trailers…1
