I drive on a lot of gravel roads and have never seemed to have a problem with the bottom vent but I keep my cowbells plugged with a couple of sponges. -

I installed the PWM controller a while back. Really liked it and it ran well for a year or so. When it died, I installed a MaxxiFan. I really, really like it. -
