We have a new to us 2016 T@G Max and with the trailer hooked up the rear view mirror is almost completely blocked by the trailer. I saw a thread on here about a rear view camera, but it is a couple of years old so I thought I would see if there were any more recent experiences. I would like a rear view camera that would act as my rearview mirror when driving, as an aid to backing up the trailer, and for a security measure when the trailer is not connected to the Tow Vehicle. I would think that it would need be wired into the power center to accomplish that. Any experiences you folks may have would be very helpful. Where and how to run wires would be particularly helpful.
Thanks,
Don and Julie

I just saw someone post over on the TaB forum about a wireless backup camera. You may want to check that out first.

I invested in a wireless dual camera system. Below is a discussion link. Scroll up to top.

It is not setup like a security camera, so it does not meet all of your needs.
Thanks James, That is an elegant set up. And you could bring the monitor into the trailer if one wanted to see what going on outside. Nice work on the wind screen too. So why dont folks cut off those hatch lock posts that you have orange tape on. Mine have tape on them too, but I am thinking of cutting them off with a dremel cut off tool.
I installed one a week ago. I pulled off the center marker light and used a piece of 1/4” aluminum flat plate to stiffen the mounting. Basically I used 3m automotive tape between the plate and the camper and the camera and the plate, using the screws from the light to hold it all in place. Overall the install went well, but Nucamp mixed black and white wires leading to some extended trouble shooting.
I’m not wild about the camera (Amtifo wireless 960p). It comes with wiring and a push button on the wire bundle that really need to be mounted behind or in something. I ended up stripping wire and it has REALLY small wire gauge. Worst of all, I only get decent reception when I put the video screen next to the drivers window.

Garmin makes a decent wireless cam that works with some of their GPS units via Bluetooth.
Costco solar is working very well for us.
