I have a 2020 T@G XL SE that had a few issues I didn’t appreciate because I think a little thought would have made this a much better trailer. I agree the Boondock package is a for appearance only.
My Boondock fenders started splitting from vibration after the first road trip and the tires are a ticking time bomb which I replaced today with Goodyear endurance. I read another post where the poster was concerned with the tires packing mud and ice to such a point it would damage the box mounted fenders. My new fenders and step are made of steel and frame mounted. This is a picture of the new bolt-on fender system before my tire changeout.

Looks great, did you do it yourself? If not how much did it run you? This is my biggest gripe about my t@g. I also have the boondock package and the fenders are splitting. You can't even rest a beer on them
It cost me $780 which I plan to email Aaron at Nucamp about this week. This system should be blueprinted and made standard. I think everything should be functional on a minimalist trailer. Any good trailer builder can look at this pic and git-r-done and I can post other pics from below.
Yeah post some more pics when you get a chance. This is next on my list. I'm not a fan of the chrome, I painted my side steps and was going to paint the fenders but decided to wait cause I want to replace them anyway. I also need to paint the front toolbox and rack black. How much weight can the fenders hold?
I’m assuming it would hold whatever the frame would support as the supports (3 on each side) look like fairly stout square tube welded to a plate, bolted to the frame. The step itself ain’t going nowhere. Its nice to sit your butt on it while you put your shoes on or stand on it to mess with the roof.
I also dropped down to a 205/75-15 Goodyear Endurance at 30lbs pressure.
I’d like to see them make more SE’s in this configuration.
@JohnnyLoco - please reduce your photo size. https://teardrop-trailers.vanillacommunity.com/discussion/65/please-re-size-all-photos-uploaded-to-the-forum#latest

JohnnyLoco , where did you get the fenders? Did you install them yourself or have someone do the install?

Southwest Gooseneck custom trailers in San Antonio Texas did it per my idea.
Most of these type folk anywhere have a gift in metals.
Very nice. Sounds as if you can take, "Caution Not A Step" sign off the sides. Do the fenders attach to the body too or just the frame?

Frame, fenders are steel. I guess I could take the stickers off but it’s mostly for the raccons.
Nicely done. Do you have any underneath photos? Method of attachement?
I’ll try to get that tomorrow
Thank you for sharing. It is on my list to do something similar.
But I can only remember (I think it was a topic on the previous forum ) how drilling new holes in the frame was such a big no no and you could not even discuss it. Made me laugh so much.
Nice job! 👍
Some trailer makers probably try to discourage discussion so folk don’t realize what a pathetic excuse for a frame they use, like the T@G. Mine might be a bit stronger now.
@JohnnyLoco I tend to agree,
in the case of the forum page, it was also related to a batch of bad trailers that the frame was cracking in the A frame corners, but it was also related to bad strapping on tge trip from frame factory to nucamp. That is what they said anyway, but that started a major discussion about tge fact that any new holes drilled in tge frame "woukd lead to major catastrophe.
I was picking up my lower jaw while I was reading that. 😉
My trailer frame also got sronger over time. 😎
That is some beautiful fabrication. I'm always impressed with nice welding. That requires experience. Heck of a design and fab job. Gongrats....
