We have the Clam 5 sided, easy as hay to pop up, no probs w/ ventilation as James mentioned; just 2 of us, wish I'd gotten the smaller 4 sided one, but plenty of room. I do need to get another set of will walls, 3 to a pack, I have 5 sides lol

My bride was looking at Cabbela version of the Clam last night. looks like 5 sided. Said to have less heat through the different colored roof. Seems to come with all the walls etc. Appears to have a rolled up wall that can be over the galley/ er kitchen. Research more, make a decision.

We just completed our first night and maiden voyage in our 2018 Boondock XL. Love it! Definitely over packed with all my gear from pop up days and little kids. But needing to add some rain shelter and a vestibule for wet clothes and a wet dog. Thinking of going with a 42" x 48" Camp Inn Multi Fit Side Tent or a 5'x7' Paha Que side tent. We love the character of the T@G and don't want to over do it. Do I need a rainfly that extends over the roof vent/fan? Also gonna add an 8x8 clam shell over the galley. We do tend to get a lot of rain the PNW. Thoughts?

I use a Kelty Backroads shelter; I got it on sale for around $149 from REI this past Xmastime. I love it. Works great either as a side shelter or over the rear galley hatch.
You shouldn't need to cover the vent fan, even in the Pacific North-Wet, provided you remember to not have the thing wide open when the rains come.

We use a 6'x6' Clam tent for a haven from mosquitos and gnats. We bought a Kelty Backroads to use on her side of the camper for a private area for changing cloths and the portable potty at night. We liked the Backroads awning so much that we picked up another to use over the galley in rainy weather.  The awnings work well in both locations for sun shelter, too.
