I changed my battery to lithium a month or so ago. It’s currently at 58% and the solar panel hasn’t charged it ever. Can anyone offer advice to fix it?
I toggled the Charge Enabled button off and on today and it finally pushed it out of float and into absorption but it’s still not charging the battery.
I would check the voltage with a volt meter and see how the Victron and LiTime BMS correlate. When you installed the battery, were you able to charge it fully according to the BMS? The Victron requires a difference of 5 volts between the battery and the solar voltage before it will begin charging. When you tap on the BMS - Balance, Cells, BMS what does it show?
Yes, I was able to fully charge the battery according to the bms. The balance, cells, and bms shows that everything is balanced and normal. It doesn’t give any other information.
You need to check the battery with a volt meter. According to the charge controller, it appears that the battery is full, as there is no current and it has gone to float, But the battery BMS is off. I do know that the battery BMS is a weak link in the lithium batteries so that might be the problem.
I turned the fan on full blast and some lights but it didn’t come out of float mode.
We’re camping for four days starting tomorrow so I’m charging the battery to full using shore power. I’ll start troubleshooting again when we get back and the battery has depleted.
