Water storage/shower
Hi all! My name is Eric. My lady and I just bought our first travel trailer: a '21 T@g XL Boondock. We took it out to an RV park to see what we would want to change on it and came up with a pretty hefty list- awnings, storage, tv, etc..
When it comes to adding a shower we considered a Road Shower (and that may still be a possibility) but exploring our options we came across the Camplux water heater and my mind went into overdrive. Sure, we could use a collapsible bucket as the feed container but the camper already comes with a water pump that's nicely wired-in. Has anybody done (or seen) a T@g that has a water storage container mounted underneath the trailer that uses the stock fill/shower fittings? I found a 20 gallon holding tank that would fit nicely betwixt the frame rails and if I could use the existing infrastructure of the camper to fill the tank, use the water pump, I think that'd be pretty slick. We could use the existing shower as the feed line into the water heater and there would be much less of a production whenever we want to shower while boondocking.
I would love to hear the opinions of folks that are more familiar with these teardrops than we are. Thanks in advance!

Just looked at that---seems pretty slick, and the price didn't seem that bad. Do you have one Mike?

Not yet, but it is on my list along with solar panels. All my camping thus far has been at State Parks with full hook ups and showers.

I’m about to do the same on my Boondock XL. Found a 33 gallon tank $210 I can easily mount under my camper. Going to attach it to the existing fill and pump lines. I don’t use the sink for much currently so using the built in pump seems like a great idea. I have a portable propane shower box and will run it to the external water connection on the camper. Still waiting for my tank to arrive (10 week lead time, ouch) and I will take photos of my build.

Nice ideas. A hot shower while boondocking is a thing of beauty!
Keep in mind gross trailer weight though. The trailer’s dry weight is 1300 or 1400 lbs, thereabouts. The axle is rated at 2200 I believe. Water weighs 8.3 lbs/gal, so you’re adding about 250 lbs for a 33 gal tank. Add full propane, food, clothes, cooking gear, sleeping gear, ..... Before you know it you might be up against gross trailer weight.

What type of pressure does the T@G pump provide at the built in shower hose? And does anyone know exactly how far those coiled hoses stretch?

I've always been hooked up to the park's water. The coiled hose stretches far enough you can get several feet away from the trailer.

the T@G side hose on the pump has enough pressure to wash an elephant

Are there QuickConnect adapters made so one can connect a standard garden hose in place of the OEM coiled hose? I suppose the 55 psi would drop.

Here's a nice option as well. https://thewaterport.com
