Total newbie here, we are picking up our new T@G 5 wide soon, I had a factory hitch fitted to the tow vehicle (2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk), and I'm trying to work out how much of a drop I need on the hitch?
The top of the receiver tube sit's ~22.5" above the ground, but I have no way to measure the trailer hitch height as it is at the dealer some distance away.
Ideally I'd like to have a ball mount, ball,, etc when I arrive to collect the T@G, but without knowing what drop I need to make things line up I'm a bit stumped?!? My back of the napkin math shows I'd need a 10" drop assuming a 16" top of ball height, does this sound right?
Can anyone tell me the height from the ground to the top of the ball to get a good level T@G?
Thanks ~DaveS

Should we assume your 5 wide is the boondock version?
No? Not sure why you should assume that? It’s not a Boondock.
My 2018 standard 5 wide ball height is 16-17 inches for level.
I assumed boondock because that is what I see as usually sold now a days.
I would assume yours is the same as mine.
Feel free to search this site under "hitch height" for additional information.
Ah OK, thanks, the dealer had a Boondock and I liked it, just not the extra $5K . Appreciate it, looks like, a 10” drop it is
I bought my 2018 T@G used, in near new condition at the end of 2018. Had to drive 400 miles up to San Francisco to pick it up from a private party.
My Tow Vehicle (TV) is a 2012 Rav4 4WD and the top of my receiver is around 12". I utilize a hitch which gains me about 3.25" Adding the height of the ball(2.75") puts it at around 16-17". You will want to take into account any height difference with the TV loaded.
My thoughts is that your drop calculations of 10" sounds about right.
Have lots of great memories with your new trailer.
