Hello,I’m looking for a 2 inch receiver hitch for my 2017 Nucamp tag XL for my bike rack, And was hoping someone out there has installed one on their TAG XL and can give me some input on what kind model # and so on,thank you very much fo your time.
Are you asking for a standalone rack because you have a 2" receiver mounted on the back of your Tag, or are you wanting an integrated rack to mount on your Tag that utilizes your VEHICLE'S 2" receiver?
If you are asking about a 2" receiver for the back of the trailer, there aren't any bolt on ones that I know of. The rear-most section of the frame is not "strong" enough for a real 2" hitch, and thus I doubt that any hitch mfg. makes one.
I had a fabrication shop add a 2" receiver tube to mine for use with a bike rack. The tube runs from the back of the trailer forward to the next cross-member of the frame so that it is supported on both ends of the tube. It's perfect for the weight of the rack and two mtn. bikes, but I wouldn't do anything more than that.
Adding two bikes, on a rack to the rear of your T&G is asking for sway disaster. That's too much weight too far away from the tongue. Google it if you don't know what I am referring to or, it has been mentioned many times in this forum.
After talking to the folks at Escape Pod, I’m convinced that a 2 inch hitch on the back of a Tag
Is not necessarily a sway issue, providing the hitch is up to the task. I had a bolt-on receiver made that bolts to the rear member in addition to the next member back. We’ve transported e-bikes and mtb without issue while doing our annual Montana/Arizona trek.
As posted before. Review how the weight distribution effects your sway. Keep the phone number handy for the people at Escape Pod if things go badly. Everyone makes different decisions on what the level of risk they are willing to take. I hope it works out for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9Dgxe584Ss&ab_channel=WeighSafe

To follow up on my post above, I too have had zero issues using the hitch with two mountain bikes.
