We just got our T@G Boondock, and from what we understand the side tent will most likely not be ready until sprig or even summer. We have to get a tarp or some other means to have a dry door area until that point.
There are many pop up shelters but I would like to know if anyone has any specific ideas/products for rain and keeping the area dry over the doorway, as a pop up will leave a gap at the entrance. We have considered just putting a large tarp over the entire thing, but not real sure how that would work. Certainly don't want to scratch up the exterior.
I guess my question is do you have a product you love for this purpose. Pictures of how you set it up? An attached tent would be ideal for a changing room, night port a potty, but that option sounds like it's going to be awhile. We have a trip planned in April to the OR coast so it's most likely going to be wet...our first outing. We would like to be as prepared as possible. I'd love to hear any and all ideas!

Arb style awning can be install on the boundock/outback rack and it is available with completely enclosed room, and the back section could be modified to fit around the door.
A think all that would be also cheaper than the pahaque set-up.

I am sure some could be found on craiglist and others.

Btw, I have an ARB awning but with the screen room. But no pics and never got to fit the screen room to the T@G door, cause never got to use it. Nice weather, and no bugs season last summer.
We have an ALPS Mountaineering Tri-Awning that we sit under for shade and when it rains. We could put it over a door, but have never felt the need. We camped 21 nights last summer and it rained on every trip but one.

Thank you for all the responses. I will look into the ones mentioned. The problem is that the boondocks 6 wide hasn't made one yet as I understand.
Outdoor Ed, I'm just afraid of our bedding getting wet if there is no door protection. Is there something I am not thinking of here? Tricks and tips?
We really haven't had that problem. I guess we just don't leave the doors open very long. And, because the side windows open out from the bottom, we generally leave them open during rains, unless it's a significant storm.

We purchased the Yakima Slim Shady awning from REI. It fits either side of the Outback roof rack perfectly. It does not have side curtains, but has worked great for us
