We really like this awning but are unsure if it's safe to add to the trailer. Mainly worried about ripping the top off...that would be a big deal! We are not sure how much the top can take in regard to this. Of course we would tie it down, but wondering about surprise wind gusts being an issue. I have an email into NuCamp but haven't heard anything. Anyone have info???

2017 T@G Max
THANK YOU! I will check it out.
Just thought I'd update for others. Nu Camp did get back to us. They told me the roof is strong enough as long as you use the polls.
FYI, I asked NuCamp earlier this week what the roof was rated for, specifically, what the Yakima racks on the Boondock was rated for. The response from Andy Warstler at NuCamp was: "Thank you for inquiring about our Tag teardrop trailers. The load capacity of the roof rack is 150 lbs."
I plan on mounting an ARB Touring awning and some other items on mine.
Nice, that load capacity came up 50 lbs since the last time I asked them last summer. The return email stated 100lbs.
Cool!
I do remember some showing a fowing tupe of awning on the T@Gyour it facebook group.
We went down and looked at the Rhino racks at a local store. The salesman has the older foxwing, which is now called a batwing. He loves his and said that he's had it in 30 mile per hour wind without any issues when it was tightly anchored...however, it is too low for the T@G outback trailer. The wing will hit the kitchen hatch. So we ruled that one out. We are designing something and when it comes together I'll post on the thread with people wanting the PahaQue for the Outback(not sure if I spelled that right). Since they don't have one for the Outback yet we decided to design our own smaller version and I think it's going to work great. Will post pics when all done too. Feeling excited to finally have a solution.
