Has anyone installed a Maxxair cover over the Fantastic fan on a T@G Boondock? The directions for the cover require drilling holes and using bolts and nuts to hold on brackets. The problem I find is not access to the back side of the fan frame so putting a nut there is not so easy. I could take the fan out but am not sure how involved that is and which screws to remove to even take the fan out. Anyone taken the fan out?
My other thought is to use screws to attach the brackets but I am not sure if they would hold the cover securely enough and I am not sure what is behind the area I would install the screws.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Tom
Here is a picture of the fan from above and you can see there is no access where the nuts need to go.

Just installed an Aero-flo earlier today. The instructions and hardware provided two options, a blind mount and one where you have access to the inside of the fan. My Boondock XL took the blind mount (where you drill a small hole and use self tapping screws). I’d think your vent cover would be similar.

Thanks, I was leaning towards that option and now i think i will get some screws and install the cover that way.
I went with the Aeroflo cover too. Shorter profile and comes with the brackets and screws to install into the side of the frame.
This thread has some photos of how it is done.

2017 T@G Max
Installed my Aeroflo this weekend on my Boondock XL. With the front jack lowered l the way I cleared my garage door by maybe 1/2".

My AeroFlo on my Silver Shadow was relatively easy to install. Installing on the T@B was more challenging as I had to move my one 6-ft step ladder from side to side, but the result is worth it!
Got my Maxxair vent cover installed today. I used the blind mount suggested by Fourman110 and it went swimmingly - thanks for the help! I also got some rubber gasket material used in plumbing from my local hardware store and put some squares under the brackets and bolts against the roof to help with rubbing and any scratches. In the picture it is the red under the brackets.
Now I can leave the vent open in the rain.
Did you use self tapping screws on the brackets into the plastic fan frame? A larger screw for better holding? Kind of concerned they would loosen with all the driving, air flow etc.🤷🏻
