Hello

This subject as come along a few time, and on few occasion, some of us would come up with different vesion of what should be done and how it should be done.

So, I have took upon my self to make some research to find what information and regulation was out there.

So, since I a canadian, I have search the site of our Transport quebec ministery, and foumd this. Luckily, it is already available in english. i welcome you from other provinces and states to post regulations from your area.

This is the link, and you will find a section that talk about mirrors. As you can see, they also talk about load, chains, and other topics.

https://saaq.gouv.qc.ca/en/transportation-goods/individual/trailer/

This also takes into account that the witdh of the mirrors should be adjusted to compensate for the widht difference if a trailer is wider than the TV.

And bellow is the link to a site that show and explain about how the mirror should be adjusted.

I just want to remind us that this apply to towing a trailer. Different adjustemnt could be made when the central mirror allow you to see behind your vehicule when you are not towing, like using the SAE methode to avoid blindspot, like was mentionned by Fourman110 in an other tread. I will post a link when I find it. Should not be to long.

Be safe and have fun outhere.

Luc :)
