Hello everyone! Back when I first joined the forum in December I seem to remember reading a post from someone who had installed a compact trailer brake controller and I believe they had it in a Jeep Wrangler. For the life of me I can not find this post again and of course I didn't bookmark the page either. Does anyone remember this post and can you help me find it? I also think that they had posted a picture of the dash where it was installed and all you could see of it was a button you push to manually apply the trailer brakes. It seems like whoever posted about the controller had mentioned that it would be great for a compact car with little room available to mount a controller. I swear I didn't dream this all up, I've tried umpteen times to find this post. I've looked at the Tekonsha Prodigy RF but that doesn't really appeal to me. There was another brand I checked out too that had a wired remote display and a wired sliding type thing to apply the brakes, I wasn't too wild about that one either although it looked better than the RF model.

I use the Redarc as well. Great little unit!

I see it has really great reviews on etrailer.com. I'll be ordering one this afternoon. I really enjoy doing mods that look like factory original but don't require permanent alterations to the vehicle so I'm hoping the dial will fit in our a pillar switch panel.
Im using the Curt Echo Mobile trailer brake and controlling with an app on my phone. Perfect for the Boondock.
I also use the curt echo wireless with my 2014 Jeep Wrangler. It connects flawless and doesn’t need the app once set up unless you want to manually tap just the brakes on the trailer.
Pardon the idiot question, but are T@Gs equipped with brakes?
That is really an idiot question. And the answer is "nyes".
Just kidding, not a dumb question at all. From the plant, Outback/Boundock have brakes. 7" drum. Not the most powerfull, but enough to make a difference. The had to install them, cause the adventure theme, make it heavier, like pass the 1000 lbs legal limit that you find in some state/provinces.
The regular T@G does not, unless maybe the XL. Because they are technically beloow 1000 lbs loaded.
Some have mannage to have brakes install in regular T@G.
In my case, first time I had brakes on a trailer, and have now the intention to install them on all my trailers, but the smallest one.
My 2017 T@G Max XL did not come with brakes. Not sure about newer ones.
