Probably the most common box used as a tongue box replacement is the "Pickup bed box". There are dozens of manufacturers and many styles. Most come in 2 common widths: full size pickup and midsize pickup. As it so happens, the widths are a near perfect match for a 5 wide (mid-sized pickup) or 6 wide (full-sized pickup) trailers. I have used both on different trailers and they are the easiest and cheapest way to add storage and function. I paid somewhere around $220 bucks for my full-size box. Many come with "feet" to sit in a truckbed with enough room to slide a 2X4 underneath, but in my case, I just removed them so it would sit flat. Here's an example of the smaller box: https://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/better-built-sec-48-in-brite-standard-cut-truck-tool-chest/0000000304229
You can source them in many places like Menards, Fleet Farm, Harbor Freight, Northern Tool, etc.
It's a big, aluminum, box. The difference (IMHO) between a $600 box and a $250 box... Is $350.

We went with a larger specific tongue box, one that is tall enough to carry our generator so we can lock it up. There are ways to carry a gennie in front of the box that incorporate locking and a fabric cover but that can cause issues with tongue weight which we have to watch since there are only class I hitches available for our tow vehicle. It's a UWS box we found on Amazon.

Nice. That's a good looking fit. I would have picked that style but for my bike mount and folding chairs. It would also be nice to hide the gennie but then there's the lifting to consider. It's always a trade-off on one end or the other.

I made mine and love it. It is vented out the back because of the propane tank and very accommodating. Maybe a local fabricating shop can make you one
Hum, I have a feeling that you do this for a living! Nicely done!
Here is what I did this winter. Bill
What's the best and simplest way to vent a box like you have? Drill multiple holes or cut out a rectangle across the back for the propane connection?
Drill holes with a hole saw.
Drill them at the bottom, so heavier propane will simply vent down and out.
I cut three inch holes across the top and bottom of the back and covered them with soffit screens.
Only two holes in each screen, skipped the middle.
Thank you LuckyJ and Tagurit. I appreciate the help.
