So last year, I bought a fan vent cover. I bought the Fan-Tastic Vent Ultra Breeze vent cover. The installation instructions were to remove the sealant from the fan vent to expose the screws used mount the fan; Remove that screw, add a extension plate...
So I did the first part and removed the sealant, but there were no screws underneath (at least not of the side that I removed.
So I punted on it, and just resolved myself to removed the cover before traveling. But I'm getting tired of doing that and want a better/semi-permanent solution. Has anyone else ran into this issue and/or ideas for installing cover? I don't really want to drill into the roof of trailer.

I believe @WilliamA comments that there are no fasteners holding the Fan-Tastic in place.

You can mount L brackets to the side of the fan housing and fasten the cover to that. It would be pretty straightforward to do. There are a number of threads on various covers that use this system. L brackets can be had at the hardware store.
Barring that, I wouldn't be afraid to drill the roof. Just use a good roof seal between the cover and roof. Make sure to seal the holes as well.
I have considered the idea of sticking one on with 3M double stick tape and am sure that would work fine, but can't recommend it. Too many variables in that equation.

Or better yet.... upgrade to a Maxair Maxxfan deluxe. Quieter, more powerful fan and no cover needed. One of the best mods I’ve done (and inspired by WilliamA).

I also just installed the Maxxfan Deluxe this past weekend. Huge improvement over the stock Fantastic fan and as stated, no additional rain cover needed. It only added 2 inches above T@G height with stock fan.
