Spare Tire 13” not snug

I recently replaced all my tires, including the spare. The only change was increasing the load range to D. But my spare tire has always been loose under the camper. The cable is only to be torqued to 20-25 ft-lbs. this leaves a gap where the tire moves about 1/8” instead of being snug. It’s tight up against the metal cross beem, but loose where the wood from front to back has a gap. Anybody have this issue? Have any tips? Thank you.

Figured it out.came up with a solution using AL

Edit: purchased 1/8” thick x 1-1/2” wide piece of aluminum from Lowe’s. Cut 2 pieces to fit where wood pieces are. Drilled 3 holes in each, tapered hole so SS screw would be flat once installed. Worked like a charm. Torqued spare and now there is no movement. Success!
