I finally pulled the TV and panel that hold the TV out to reveal the top of the air conditioner and the giant hole but I thought I would simply put a couple of hinges on to and be done.
Oh my God that is not the case at all
On closer inspection there's a great deal of wiring and some rather large holes that can't be filled because of the necessity of the air conditioner being able to breathe. With that, I will await a write-up or get a better idea on how to tackle this because right now it's well over 85° on the outside of the camper which is just too far past my comfort zone.
Let's see your pictures and write ups please

I have to find the instructions, but you basically build a box to fit inside the hole that covers the electrical bits.

I am just awful at carpentry. It's too bad the nice folks at Nucamp dont sell a kit
If there are instructions for that it would be great. Thanks for posting
NuCamp does have a kit for it. I had it done at üCamp last year and they brought all the parts and just changed them out. It already had the new hardware installed
